I was sitting in a coffee shop yet again towards the end of last year (I actually rather work there than my home office) when I received a call. I can’t remember if I even said hello but the lady said “I’m Jodi, I want to book you for our wedding…I’ll drive by and drop off the check.” Mmm o.k. No emailing back and forth, no chit chat. Let’s just cut right to the chase and get this done!
A few months before their wedding, word got around that the hotel where they had planned to hold the reception was having a few financial hiccups and it was a bit unclear at the time whether they would even be open on their wedding day. Well, I always look for a silver lining. And, fortunately, Jodi and Daniel actually created one — they moved their wedding reception inside the airplane facility where Daniel works. They decorated it beautifully with cozily lit tents, had a cocktail bar setup and treated the guests to a delicious, catered meal.
Now, a first dance with an airplane as a backdrop? Awesome.
Jodi and Daniel, congratulations with your wedding!
